Shell Seismic Survey (Deutsch)

Shell received approval from the SA government to explore for gas and oil off the South African Eastern Cape coast, one of the country's most sensitive, and savage, underwater ecosystems. The area includes the migration path for various whales, is a spawning ground for endangered fish species, and the Aguhlas current travels through this part of the world at up to 8 knots. South Africa is a recent signatory to COP26 and should not be doing any exploring for fossil fuels. The survey activity has a negative impact on sea life.
